Plimoth Plantation and Plymouth Massachusetts

We didn't have to drive too far down the road to go back in time.  The Plimoth Plantation is a wonderful way to discover the journey of the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag Indians.  The Historical site is well laid out and presented.  We began with an introductory movie and then we were free to travel down the path to the site of the Wampanoag village.  The actors are mostly from that tribe and are there to answer your questions and tell you about their life then and now.  It was fun to see the Weetu (home).  Our next stop was the craft site...it was experiencing some new construction but they bring in artisans who share their handiwork!  Of course there are gift shops too!  Our last stop was the Pilgrim village...the actors here are specific individuals and do not come out of character...they answer your questions and readily engage in conversation as they go about their daily chores and work.  There is also a barn to visit.  Such a great place to spend the first part of our day.      We traveled about 30 minutes down the road to Plymouth Mass. and found a great little restaurant thanks again to Yelp...called The Lobster Hut.  Shared a great plate of fresh fish and each had some chowder...so good! We walked around town a bit after checking into our hotel.  We found Plymouth Rock, The Mayflower II, several statues honoring the Pilgrims.  Then my wonderful husband drove me out to Wrentham Outlet Mall(175 stores) so I could shop at the Vera Bradley Outlet for my birthday.  He's a keeper!  I found a few things and we headed back to Plymouth for dinner.  Our hotel host had recommended a restaurant...East Bay Grille...it was fabulous...Steve had a seafood pasta dish and I had a strawberry salad with grilled shrimp...so yummy!!     Since it was my birthday we shared a delicious chocolate fudge cake.  We so enjoyed sitting outside by the bay...so warm and such a fun evening!  Blessings!!
